For My final model i decided to create a 1:50 scale house based of plans i created earlier. in order do do this i used lessons learnt from earlier models such as a solid base and to use a much thinner mix of plaster to avoid as many holes and bubbles as possible

Then after sizing up windows and doorways and patching any holes as i did in earlier models i moved on to casting the roof.  As this was the first time doing this the base of the roof stuck to the mdf board i used to cast it causing the large crack that can be seen below after that was fixed the roof was joined and patched onto the rest of the building

using this technique a few problems arose. The first was that on its own the plaster has no structural integrity and would crumble and fall over, secondly the base itself was not rigid enough and allowed the walls to warp and deform. I then caried out a second series of experiments that rectified these problems by using a cast base to add rigidity and wire supports to add structural integrity.

After Having Finished casting and cleaning the walls and wiring the electrics i moved on to using large panes of glass and plain wood trim as can be seen in many of the structures made by the likes of bel Geddes and lloyd wright to finish of the piece. I also added fake grass and sand to the roof and paths to increase the level of realism.
